The Dodge Caliber SRT-4 is Dead

Chrysler’s lone exciting small car is dead, according to a report from AutoWeek. No specifics were given on why the car was knocked out of the lineup, but if they’re killing this one, we can only imagine that the Hemi powered stuff is now endangered.

A couple years ago we got a short stint behind the wheel of one. It was pretty stinkin’ quick with it’s 285hp four banger and the six-speed trans was a nice piece to row. It suffered from insane torque steer as was widely noted at the time of its release in 2007.

Perhaps Fiat does not want to be competing against itself when it inevitably rolls out a US spec version of the Fiat 500 Abarth? The SRT division is now left with five cars: The Viper SRT10, SRT8 Challenger, SRT8 Charger, 300C SRT8, and the Grand Cherokee SRT8.
