The COPO Camaro Program Continues For 2014. Can You Guess What New Color Is Available?

The COPO Camaro Program Continues For 2014. Can You Guess What New Color Is Available?

We got word today that the Chevrolet Performance COPO Camaro Program will in fact continue for 2014 and that a brand new color is going to be available. We’ll let you guess what that color is right here. We were told that the COPO Camaro Program’s special nature means that, although insiders want to keep the program going well into the future, they are unable to officially comment on upcoming model year COPO Camaros. We can tell you that we most certainly want them to continue with the COPO program for 2015 and beyond, and that the cool guys we know at Chevy Performance are working hard to keep the bean counters happy with good sales for the COPO and entire Camaro lineup.

At SEMA, we saw the COPO Concept Camaro and COPO Hauler, and were told that the program would continue through 2014 and may be available in the cool light blue metallic on display, with new wheels, graphics, seats, engine options etc. With the 350 2.9L Whipple Equipped Supercharged version being the big dog on the block, and 427, 396, and 350 inch naturally aspirated combos being available. We dig the light blue, but were told that the new red hot COPO Camaro will be available in a new color that has never been available to the COPO lineup before.

Can you guess what it is?

It's called Red Hot for a reason, and is the best red ever put on a Camaro.

We know the car above in NOT a COPO Camaro. Photos with the new color are not yet available.

Nice. The car sells out with no loss in manufacturing and gets better press than any pro stock effort ever will. In fact, the COPO is the new Pro Stock, NHRA just isn’t there yet! We’ll wait.

Its got no legitimate class to run in .. therefore … Vaporware … therefore … who gives a rats behind ? As for the NHRA ‘ catching up ‘ ? Heck .. there’s a better chance NASCAR will put ‘ Stock ‘ back into Stock Car Racing … the SCCA reviving the CanAm class … and GWB getting a brain than the NHRA ever ‘ catching up ‘

But …. since when did BS become a forum for GM’s advertising , hype and propaganda ?

IMO this constant barrage of GM hype recently is getting a little over the top and more than just bit suspicious

Hot Rods – Muscle Cars .. the occasional Sports car heritage article , LSR and the Drags [ retro for the most part ] is why I come here regularly

Not New Car sales ploys by the manufactures . I can go to TTAC ALD or Jalopnik for that info … if and when I want it

Wow, you are truly clueless if you don’t understand what this car is for. The Drag Paks, COPOs and CJs are the factories supporting GRASS ROOTS sportsman drag racing, instead of pissing away billions on NASCAR, F1 or other pointless racing money pits that have absolutely no connection to production cars anymore. These are the glory days for modern muscle, and factory sportsman drag cars. Maybe you should try sportsman class drag racing, instead of just racing your keyboard here everyday. You might appreciate the COPOs then.

And the only thing “over the top” on BS is your constant bitching and moaning about everything and anything GM, and your holier than thou attitude. Maybe we should be suspicious about your motives? Do you work for Honda or something?
