The Chip Foose John Deere 4020 project was unveiled a little while back and frankly we didn’t say anything much about it because we were trying to figure out what the hell they had sone with the stately 4020 tractor that they started with. Jeff Huneycutt tipped us off to a photo gallery of the completed machine, and we’re still kind of at a loss on this one.
We’re with Jeff on respecting the clean fabrication work and skill involved in the changes made to the tractor, but we’re also with him wondering what the freakin’ point was. The big 4020 which started off as a piece from the John Deere factory collection was made into either an overgrown garden tractor or something we’re struggling to even name.
Maybe Foose and the boys can put ‘er back to stock, or at least ditch the turf tires for the big lugged tires it had from the factory. Oh yeah, maybe painting the thing actual John Deere green would be good too.
Are we missing something here or is this project lost on everyone else too?
