The Hot Wheels Legends Tour Is Happening Again For 2019! Think Your Car Has What It Takes To Impress?

The Hot Wheels Legends Tour Is Happening Again For 2019! Think Your Car Has What It Takes To Impress?

Last year Hot Wheels kicked off the Legends tour. The premise is simple: at stops across the country, vehicles that are chosen by judges at each stop on the tour were grouped together in a final judgement at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, and the winner got their car immortalized as a Hot Wheels toy car. We had a particularly good insight into the program as we knew some people that were in the running, including Suzy Bauter and her Rambler Wagon. The Legends Tour is returning for 2019, and this year it’s going to be even bigger. Over the next few months, Hot Wheels will make 18 stops at shows across the country. At each show, cars will be judged on three criteria points: Authenticity, meaning that one look will tell anyone that this car should be a Hot Wheels car; Creativity, meaning that it will stand out from the tens of thousands of cars Hot Wheels has already made over the years; and Garage Spirit, meaning that your own effort was put into the creation of the car.

Think your car has what it takes? The competition will be very close…last year over 3,600 cars entered for the running, fifteen cars were picked to go to Las Vegas and only one got chosen as the winner. And there was a good amount of competition…some of the cars that came runner-up at the shows we’ve seen before and they are jaw-dropping. If you think you’ve got what it takes, find the nearest show to you, and enter!

It all starts with a $1.00 car. Then look at were we all are today. I may just have to go take a look.

I went to the Seattle (actually Mt Vernon) event last year and it was a good time. I was very disappointed when they fired up the Twin Mill II. Twin engine car should sound better than it did.

The Twin Mill is detuned. While operable, it’s a show car first and foremost, and all it really does is move from trailer to parking spot.
