Since I was a kid, I always wanted to drive a dump truck and for a while I got to do that. As a CDL holder and a guy who was hustling to pay the bills for a few years, I would pick up odd jobs and work where I could while trying to do this whole internet thing. I am happy to say that I never flipped one over while trying to empty the contents out of the back but then again they were a whole lot smaller than the majority of stuff that you will see in this video. This is nine minutes of head scratching failure, some funny, some shocking, and all really expensive!
Since we don’t know exactly what’s happening here for many of these we’re going to enlist your help, readers. Anyone who has experience as a dump truck operator needs to watch this and tell us what the hell is going on. A couple of them are pretty straight forward with the lift piston failing and the body slamming back down on the chassis. Others, especially the ones where the piston bends and fails are weird. Is this operator error because they did not try to shake the load down the bed? Is it just old junk giving out? What’s the story here?
The majority (perhaps all) of these were filmed in foreign countries and that’s not a knock on foreign countries but we are wondering if the stuff was worn out when it got there and we are seeing the violent end of its operations life here.

No dump truck experience myself, but I’d guess it’s some combination of too much of the load still being up front when the bed is raised up all the way (the failure to shake the load down) and not having the truck level when the bed is fully raised.
This happens quite a bit in the States too.
