(Photos by Charles Wickam) – The season of indoor car shows kicks off with a bang this coming weekend in Houston, Texas as the Houston Autorama marks the first stop on the 15 city tour of major shows put on by the Championship Auto Shows Series. Those events include the various Autorama shows, the World of Wheels shows, and the Cavalcade of Customs shows, as well. Growing up and living in New England as I have, indoor car shows are a super important part of being a car guy in the “off months”. In the 1980s it was about seeing Spuds McKenzie and the Swedish Bikini team along with the cars. The 1990s had their own appeal, and today they shows are as diverse with cars and trucks as ever.
Our man Charles Wickam will be at the Houston Autorama this weekend shooting photos and delivering fantastic galleries like he always does for us. As a primer, we’ll provide a link to his 2011 galleries for your viewing pleasure. We’ll be providing coverage from multiple shows on this tour over the winter as we have strategically placed BS operatives in most every major region of the country where the events will be held. From our guys in the midwest to a new contributor in Detroit, to my chowderheaded pals in Boston, we’ll be on the scene with the Champion Auto Shows Series to help you fend off the winter blues.
