The Mighty Car Mods Boys Get Their Hands On A 1981 Honda Motocompo And Thrash It

In 1981, a Motocompo was quite possibly one of the coolest things to come out of Honda. Built from 1981 through 1983, they were specifically marketed with the Honda City, a tiny hatchback that thanks to it’s abnormal height was designed to carry 4 adults. In addition to the aforementioned adults, the City was also designed to carry the Motocompo. Or was it that the Motocompo was designed to fit in the trunk of the City? Hmmmm. I think the latter.

At any rate, the Motocompo is bitchin. It’s a 49cc scooter with folding handlebars, and seat and handles so you can just set it in the trunk of the City, cruise to town, park anywhere that is easy, and then cruise your Motocompo to the office. The included safety cable allows you to lock it to any stationary device, and the helmet lock lets you leave your brain bucket behind as well. It’s brilliant! Or is it? On paper this thing is mint, and it’s a Honda scooter for god’s sake, they kind of figured that all out. The only downside to me is the fact that this sucker weighs 45 kg. At 2.2 lbs per kg, that’s 99 lbs. For me and McTaggart that’s no big deal. For Lohnes….he’s going to have to call in a helper. Can you imagine some small woman trying to wrestle this thing into the trunk of a hatchback? Not my problem, so I’ll move on.

This thing is rad. Way rad. And the Mighty Car Mods guys show it off, and put it through it’s paces. Errr, them through their paces. Yeah, they have two somehow. And they are going to race them. Watch.
