The Restored NASCAR 1965 Impala is on eBay for $75K

One of our favorite restoration projects, the Roy Mayne 1965 NASCAR Impala, is for sale on eBay again, and this time it has been restored. The asking price is $75,000 and we don’t think that’s too bad for a car you could flip the key in and be hauling tail with vintage racers all over the country. The car has been an internet darling over the course of the last few months while the frame-off restoration was going on.

We broke the news about this barn find when it first appeared on eBay as a rusty hulk of a car. The new owner Shaun Coleman and the crew at Miller Motorsports kicked into overdrive to complete the car in time for it to run hot laps at the Monterey Motorsports Reunion this passed summer. The car has many original piece in it and even some of the “good luck charms” have found their way home.

The car had lived in a barn for more than 42 years. Parked after running on some of the most famous NASCAR tracks in the country, it saw the light of day again last fall when the elderly owner, realizing that he wasn’t the one who would be doing the work, relented and sold the Impala to Coleman.

Not detail was missed with this resto. All the hand lettered numbers and sponsor signs have been repaired and repainted by hand. There isn’t any glue on vinyl or wraps on this thing! The big 427ci motor has been freshened up and really ran well at the Monterey Motorsports festival.

We want this thing Bad!
