We’ve got to thank our buddy Jon for the tip, because this is something we never would have never thought of or looked for. It’s the homepage of a team of racers who plan to run a nitro-burning, rear-engine dragster powered by a rotary engine.

Dr. Wankle certainly never planned on having nitromethane course through the veins of one of his little rotary creations, but these guys seem to think that a rotary engine is the ultimate starting point for this volatile fuel. With the greatly reduced number of moving parts over a piston motor, their claims may have some merit, but we’re still skeptical.

What will is sound like? Who the hell knows, but we’d like to find out.
