BangShift contributing photographer Bob Chiluk tipped us off to the fact that the legendary Las Vegas based sleeper van is for sale. This is the full sized Chevy van you have seen eating up Corvettes, Mustangs, Imports, hot trucks, and other stuff at the drags. Powered by a worked over 5.3L LS engine that has a 72mm turbo mounted on top, the van is AWD and has a custom built Rossler 4L80E transmission with a PI 3,000RPM stall converter. The van has run a best of 12.80 at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Strip is a great track but the elevation and air usually suck out loud. 5,000ft of air there is a pretty good day. Even at the night drags it is still 100 degrees at the place! If this van goes somewhere with decent air, it will run even mo’ betta!
What is super cool about this van, that we didn’t know is that the dude who built it needed to have a Jekyll and Hyde type deal because this was his wife’s daily driver! That tells us that it runs and drives like a stocker on the street tune and then rolls like thunder at the strip with the exhaust cut out open, water/meth injection hooked up, and 17psi of boost force feeding that little 5.3. Because this van is AWD there’s not even anything to ever worry about regarding traction at the strip, either. The van will hook in a car wash, skating rink, or tire shine factory because all four wheels are getting power and it weighs more than three tons!
We think this thing really rules. All of the factory stuff (aside from the AC, which needs a new compressor) works and this is not hacked up heap. All of the work has been totally pro and it almost looks factory. Given the $25,000 asking price, we’d make this bad ass van the rolling BS world HQ. Chad and I would be punching each other in the nuts and poking each other in the eyes to drive and beat down unsuspecting drag strip victims in this large barge.
