For you vintage drag-o-philes out there, this gallery will be like manna from heaven. A few years ago we were given an original copy of the race program from the 2nd Annual Manufacturer’s Funny Car Championships, held at Orange County International Raceway in 1968. We scanned all 31 pages and have published them here. It makes for awesome reading, even just for the vintage ads!
The race was advertised as “The Largest Funny Car Race in the United States” and we totally buy it. Everyone who was someone was booked to be there. The format pitted each different car company against each other, which rules even harder when you realize that the racers were running make specific motors! It wasn’t a battle of different bodies, the mechanical bits were correct as well!
We believe that this is the only place on the internet to find this document. Our original copy was given to us by a New England region drag race announcer friend named Mike Williams (who taught us everything we know!) after we promised to keep it safe. Reading this deal is like taking a trip back in time.
Wouldn’t it be crazy if we had the 1969 version? Oh wait, we do.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing this, some good ideas for today’s promoters in there, too!
If promoters went back to the old ideals of advertising – they would be surprised at the results.
Where the heck did I put that time Machine?
