I apologize in advance for the next couple of weeks…it’s going to be a bit Mopar-centric, but I promise to keep the weird 1970s stuff to a minimum. You see, two events are coming up that I’m excited for: later this week I will be in Columbus, Ohio at National Trails Raceway for the Mopar Nats, and next week I will be heading up to Milan Dragway for the 2016 HEMI’nsanity Modern Street Hemi Shootout race, Detroit Area Modern Mopar show, and possibly more. So, that’s old-school and new school Mopar heaven in just about a week’s worth of time. Yeah, I’m pretty pumped, and it’s not a big secret.

The Modern Street Hemi Shootout race might be the most interesting thing I’m going to see, to be fair. Earlier this year at ChallengerFest 7 in Bowling Green, I went from just photographing cars to actually racing with these guys, and while I’m not going to be racing at all while I’m up there, I will be going through the pits and checking out some of the more extreme cars that are there. And there’s plenty, from turbo Grand Cherokees to the wicked Hellcats that have been raced since the owners took delivery. And to get you in the mood, I decided to bring you footage from BigKleib34, who found the High Horse Performance Hellcat Challenger, complete with nitrous, getting done. One thing I will say about the new-age Hemi racers…they don’t mess around. If they aren’t going fast, it’s because they broke something trying!
