We’ve been keeping you abreast of the latest news and information regarding our rallying pal Bill Caswell as he prepares to attack the Baja 1000 in a BMW Baja buggy of his own construction. Caswell gained fame during the Mexican World Rally race when his story of the BMW racer he built in his mom’s garage hit the wires.
From there, he’s attacked many rally events across the country, hit Pike’s Peak, will be at the Baja 1000 next week and is planning to relocate to Germany in the next few months to begin prep for the infamous 24 hours of the Nurburgring. He’ll be attacking the Green hell in a BMW of his own construction of course.
When we spoke to Bill, on Friday at SEMA, he still had a long way to go before the car was anywhere near race ready. He’s holed up in San Diego finishing the car as you read this. We’ll get an update from him soon on the progress, but before that, hit the video below to learn more about the guy who departed corporate America for a racing suit and has been living a dream that’s far from over.
