This is a cool piece of video showing a 1989 Caprice that I would argue is actually uglier than Buford T Justice getting after it on an autocross course with a driver who seems to have some skills. The Caprice may have been a taxi cab at some point as evidenced by the large swaths of yellow paint that adorn the rear quarter panels of the car. The Caprice still wears its dog dish ‘caps and stock sized rubber but we’re not sure if it still has all of its stock suspension pieces. The car has some lean and roll to it, but the driver does a nice job hammering the thing, especially through some quick switch-back turns on the course. You’ll see the car make some really quick cuts and exhibit just how nimble these big fellas are.
All this video does is make me want to thrash the daylights out of Buford on the closest autocross course around. Sadly, that will have to wait before the glaciers totally melt in a month of so. Until then, I’ll be watching this guy go balls out in the video you see below!

Bad Ass!! He is hauling the mail on what looks like stock stuff!
Can’t wait to see ole Buford do the same thing! And I expect some cone eating!!
As I heard at the only autoX I attended…”If you ain’t eating cones, you ain’t trying hard enough!! The clean runs will come after you know the limits.”
Big deal. Cabs on Michigan Avenue in Chicago drive like that every day.
Yeah, replace the cones with other cabs and some buses, and it would be just like a cab ride in NYC.
amazing what you can do with a car once you can tell where its at by feel and just knowing what it will do. I remember my 10 years of square caprices fondly. Yeah the whole time I wanted a Iroc or a GTA. Now I have one but want a caprice also. Brian, this is your fault.
