Because Why Not: That Psychotic Power Wheels Mustang Is Getting Turbocharged!

First things first: I’m absolutely stunned that this freak of a contraption is still in one piece. Back in May, we showed you the footage of this pink Power Wheels Mustang as the builders tail-whipped this 240cc Honda-engined kid’s toy around before nearly sending it off of an embankment and onto a railway. It’s one of those ideas so bad that it’s actually good. The mini-Mustang is already a donut machine, a power-on drifting monster that is the kind of daydream 4th period math class couldn’t have caused me to dream up. But, as always, there is that one step further that has to be taken, and this one is simple: turbocharge it.

Who knew that there was a turbocharger small enough to work on the Honda engine? The unit itself is an IHI RHB31 VZ21 turbocharger that is normally meant to kick the power up on a quad, or a snowmobile, or a personal watercraft. It’s not meant to propel Barbie’s dream Mustang on steroids into a new dimension of “oh, holy shit!” every time someone steps on the throttle. Fitted to the Mustang, which is now sporting fender flares and the oil cooler, mounted full JDM style on the front bumper, the turbocharged death kart is now…well, it’s still a work in progress, but we’re interested to see how this project is going to turn out. The duo want to see the mini-Mustang run 90 miles an hour.

Is there a doctor in the house? We might need one sooner than later…
