He’s drifted, rallied, flung himself up Pikes Peak at officially alarming speeds. He’s the guy responsible for the best scene in the 2005 Dukes of Hazzard movie, where the General Lee drifts a roundabout for what seems like eternity, he’s the wheelman behind the Pennzoil commercials, and when he’s just about sick of playing with cars, he hops on a mountain bike and flings himself down trails. Rhys Millen is one of the automotive worlds’ badasses, a wheelman of the purest sense. He comes from good stock, too…his father is Rod Millen loves playing with cars and trucks in the dirt, and his uncle is Steve Millen, an IMSA legend. Anybody who wants to hear some good motorsports stories would do well to sit this guy down, pay for drink of choice, and to ask the right questions.
Well, they aren’t the margaritas that he normally prefers, but a few cold PBRs offered up by Hoonigan is more than enough to loosen Rhys up enough to get the stories to flow. From his scariest moment while racing on Pikes Peak to whether or not he’s a better driver than Sam Hubinette or Tanner Foust, he answers the questions as they come to him.
