Just when you thought the, “Fast and the Furious” was the only car movie coming down the pipe, we’ve got a trailer to brighten your spirits. This cool flick, called “A Sweet Sickness: The Flathead Movie” seems to be centered around the cars and culture that surrround one of the bedrock items in hot rodding culture, the Ford flathead V8.
The movie is being made by Brian Darwas of Atomic Hot Rods and if the whole thing rolls as smoothly as the trailer, this is going to be one bad ass flick. There’s lots of great high definition footage of vintage Ardun and Evans heads, along with was seems to be snippets of interviews filmed with some of the biggest name flathead builders in the country today.
It’s pretty amazing that so many flatties are still chuffing away these days. Henry Ford would be delighted to know that his engine is still getting the job done, many decades after it first hit the streets. Press play below to watch the trailer. We did…about half a dozen times.
Brian does great work, his documentary of the Rooling Bones crew driving to Bonneville is killer….excellent soundtracks too.
Now THAT looks like a bitchin flick…my days are consumed with high dollar builds and lap top tuning .I am itching for some good ol fashion hot rodding.
it is going to be good to see something about the flathead, we have an orginal
53 never been taken down, still runs and
only has less than 50 thousand miles on
it.
good work guys. oh by the way, it is not
always how fast you go, it really is just
how you go.
Been waiting for a Video like this for a loooong time to show my friends. Ol’ Tom Hutchinson in SoCal & I built my 284 c incher back in ’95 with all the goodies… elde heads n intake, triple 97’s, mellings oil pump, ’53 merc crank, etc, to go into my ’40 Ford truck, which btw, hasn’t been on the road since it was garaged in ’63, but you know the story, one thing leads to another, and so she’s still waitin’ to go together… maybe someday.
