Bitchin’ Video: In Car Racing Footage And A Video Feature Of Kris Henderson’s 200+ MPH 1959 Jaguar!

Kris Henderson is one of the coolest guys we know and his 200+ capable 1959 Jaguar, powered by one of the most pissed off Chevy rat motors we’ve ever heard is one of the coolest cars we know. Kris of course runs it at standing mile events, he drag races it, and he has taken the car on the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour. During the first event of the 2013 ECTA season in Wilmington, Steve Murphree got in-car video footage of the absolutely wild ass run Henderson made. Without exaggeration it was one of the wildest driving performances we have ever seen and watching the in-car video, Henderson tamed that animal with one hand on the tiller and the other on the shifter!

While the in car footage is cool, it is the video tour of the machine that follows which we really enjoyed. Kris has a stout and unique piece on his hands that he built himself and the video shows us virtually every nook and cranny of the neat old English saloon. It would be cool to call the guys over in Coventry, England to let them know what’s happened to their old classic. Some tea would probably be spat on the lunch crumpets.

Like Kris says in the video, he came to build this car during the “dare to be different” craze that began years ago. From where we’re sitting it doesn’t seem to have abated much and that is a great thing. Machines like this one are what hot rodding is all about. The intersection of brutality and creativity wrapped in a unique skin.

What’s cooler than that?!
