How to properly do a burnout might be the only real point of contention between Australians and Americans. Here in the states, standstill burnouts and pavement striping are pretty much it, while Australians like their tire fires to look more like Baryshnikov at the height of his career, dancing delicately with a soundtrack that would challenge AC/DC for volume and appeal. There have been forum wars, YouTube video spats and plenty of back-and-forth blasts over who was truly right, but in the end…it’s still burning rubber. So when Powercruise brought their show over to the USA, it didn’t take much time for the locals to figure it out.
This video is from last year’s Powercruise in Brainerd, Minnesota, and while the Chevrolet truck sitting and waiting to hit the skidpad looks mild enough, it ain’t. Anything with an LS engine should automatically be suspect, and the second you hear the turbo come on, any question of the Chevy’s capabilities disappear in the fog.
