John Baker’s 1990 Ford LTD Crown Victoria prerunner is the kind of wrong that is oh, so right in our eyes. The GM-powered Ford was converted into full desert-runner form after Baker had pretty much rallied the stock equipment to death in the dirt, and we haven’t seen anything like it outside of the Olds Banshees that were run in the early 1970s. It’s the kind of “why the F not?” thinking that makes for incredible builds that nobody sees anywhere else that we adore, but one thing we failed to do when we featured the car was to find some action videos. Honestly, we were just happy to see anything remotely resembling the profile that the LTD cuts, but we finally found some footage that really shows what the big Ford can do. That 6.0L LS is good for something besides occupying a hole between the fenders, y’know…

Folks always blow hot or cold about this car: it’s cool, but the LS powerplant is divisive.
Personally, I think it rocks, and I’d love to see some footage of it bombing around a short course track.
