The word “tractor” does not conjure up images of speed. Rural work, farming, trucking, sure. Hay bales, neatly rowed fields, and bales of hay? Yes. In fact, the only thing that you can correlate as “fast” to a tractor might be the farmer’s daughter…you know, the one that actually does think the tractor is sexy. Outside of that, a tractor is simply slow. Anyone who has driven through the seriously unpopulated areas of the flyover states on anything other than the Interstate sooner or later will know the anger that can be caused by following a John Deere for miles at 25 miles an hour. The Orange Shield Of Slow, Agonizing Death will madden you as you call the driver just about everything under the sun until they finally move over…or until you get the perfect passing spot and proceed to demonstrate a rolling run to 100 miles an hour on some lonely two-lane surrounded by corn.

However, Brian is fascinated by these lumbering mechanical beasts, and we don’t doubt for a second that after he sees this footage, that he will be one the phone with some like-minded friends trying to find out how to make this a reality for himself. Filmed on the Autobahn, this is a tractor hauling a camping trailer passing a car at a little over 60 miles an hour. Nothing really fast…IF you didn’t notice the fact that a tractor just passed you. That would leave an impact. Now think of what fun Lohnes would have if he had farm equipment that did 60 miles an hour. I shudder at the thought. But maybe you can put what we are seeing into context so that I might understand this better? Let us know below!
