Car Chase Movie Sunday: The Violent And Bad Ass Cigarette Truck Chase From Beverly Hills Cop

Car Chase Movie Sunday: The Violent And Bad Ass Cigarette Truck Chase From Beverly Hills Cop

Here’s our last one of the day and it is a favorite. This is the great cigarette truck chase scene from the original Beverly Hills Cop. Eddie Murphy is stuck in the back of the big truck (and occasionally stuck swinging in the breeze outside of it) as the bad guys tries to run from the cops. This chase, for a relatively quick scene that is just a couple minutes long, features more wanton destruction per second that most other chases do in a far longer period of time. Watching this cab over big rig lay the lumber to a bunch of prop cars is something else. Between old wagons, cop cars, full size Chrysler sedans, and whatever else is in the way, the truck takes care of business!

Serge: [Serge is having trouble understanding/pronouncing Axel’s first name] Donny, run and tell Miss Summers that, uh, Mister Achmed Foley is here to see her…
Axel Foley: No, *Axel* Foley. Axel.
    Serge: Achnell…? Achwell…
    Axel Foley: *Axel*.
Serge: …Foley is here to see her, he’s an old acquaintance.
