The mind of Brian Lohnes is an incredible thing, it really is. The man is an encyclopedia of racing history, trivia facts that even die-hards would have trouble remembering, and he comes equipped with the processing power to put it all together into a format that is delivered perfectly. Honestly, the man has my respect many, many times over. But there is one side of him that I struggle with: his child-like adoration for large by huge trucks. I get the whole thing about work trucks, I do. It’s when things get a bit…well, cartoonish. That’s when one eyebrow raises up and my face just automatically goes into “…really?” mode. I’m sure he does that with 95% of my entire automotive fascination. Hell, I’m sure he’s been locked into that mode since he learned of my recent automotive activities…

In those few moments when he’s quiet and thoughtful, you have to wonder what is going on in that great big noggin of his. I’m pretty sure it looks something like this: lifted trucks that vary between badass street 4x4s and monster trucks out playing and making a day of it. I don’t get it. Just hand me a can of Mountain Dew out of the cooler and I’ll be on my way, thanks.
