There have been some very serious advancements made in high performance cooling systems over the last 15 years and many of them can be traced back to the people at Be Cool Incorporated located in Essexville, Michigan. The company has been on the leading edge of innovation in the field since the doors were opened in the mid-1990s. Cooling systems used to be mish-mashed pieces incapable of handling a truly stout motor. Those days are over now and huge power can be had without fear of a melt down in traffic or on the fairgrounds.
We were tipped off to a great shop tour of the Be Cool factory that shows how the products are made and the processes that are in place to ensure quality. The fact that all their radiators and many other components are made right in Michigan makes us even more proud to share the video. A big thanks goes out to Don “The Beechcomber” Johnson for the tip.
A bit of a side note is that the spokesman for the company is a man named Jim Luikens. Jim’s a good dude who has done some awesome stuff during his life in the high performance aftermarket. Jim is probably the most famous parts guy to ever live and was the man responsible for building Berger Chevrolet into the biggest factory speed parts seller in the country during the muscle car era. He was so well known as a parts savant (we use that term lovingly!) that he became the central figure in their ads! There were none better than Luikens during the heyday of the muscle car.
Watch the video below to see how some of the finest radiators and cooling system components in the world are fabricated right here in the USA by American workers, for American cars.
Be Cool certainly is.
