One of the hottest running stories in Hot Rod Magazine over the course of the last year has been the revival of Freiburger’s long dormant 1970 Dodge Super Bee. He’s owned the car since he was 15 and for years it languished in his garage on square tires. The Dick Landy built Hemi was totally unhappy on the street and the car was really one of those projects that morphed itself into a bad ass car that was completely useless on the street, but made some hay on the strip.
Well, after years of poking, prodding, and guilt, the car has been made street worthy by taming the motor down some, making some suspension tweaks, and generally going through virtually all of the systems that make it run and move.
The effort was made to get the car ready for the 2011 running of the famous “Mopars at the Strip” event. This video captures the thrash and the cruise from LA to Las Vegas. It’s fun with a side of sleep depravation, and an ATF shower.

Thanks, Brian!
Do NOT change the stance of that car.
Great video!
My favorite show of the year. Missed your run, but not the snow. Looking forward to part 2
Excellent! That car is perfect. I have been really enjoying your videos. Please keep doing them, great compliment to the Mag.
Notwithstanding the trans problem bummer, nice to see the old girl freshened up and back on the road/track. Glad you made it back to LA w/o incident. X2 on the stance…some of us don’t object at all to the old-timey stink-bug look.
You guys are having WAY TOO MUCH FUN! Can’t wait to see part 2, as the suspense is killing me. I still have memories of my 70 Superbee, a Hemi, 4-speed, drum brakes, manual steering, and bench seat car. While the brakes tried to kill me back in 1977, it was a blast!
Another Freiburger adventure, they don’t get any better then that!
