That’s Gotta Hurt: Xavier Coupal Goes Barrel-Rolling In His NASCAR Challenger hard enough to remove the bodywork

That’s Gotta Hurt: Xavier Coupal Goes Barrel-Rolling In His NASCAR Challenger hard enough to remove the bodywork

This one hurts to watch. During the Canadian Tire race at Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Xavier Coupal went for one hell of a ride. Coming out of a corner on lap 51, he was fighting for position with Marc-Antoine Camirand when his Dodge Challenger rode up onto Camirand’s fender. Camirand’s car got loose and nosed under Coupal’s car, and once the tires dug in, the car barrel-rolled hard enough to shed most of it’s bodywork all over the track. The race was red-flagged due to time constraints versus the amount of cleanup that needed to be completed. Coupal was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and was later released uninjured.
