Two Saleen S7R, a TVR T400R, a Viper, and two Ferraris contributed to the debris on the track you see in the picture, and the guy standing there is the owner of both Saleens. This was the scene at the 2002 British GT Championship race at Oulton Park that got the race red-flagged, a few minutes too late. A torrential downpour had struck during the middle of the race, turning GT racers into spinning ballerinas. You can see the water standing on the asphalt, and just how much rain is falling. Why anyone would race in those conditions with GT cars is anybody’s guess, but the reason why nobody should starts to occur at Knickerbrook corner, the course’s “driver’s corner”, and by the time it’s all said and done hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of race car bits and pieces are scattered around the track and a couple of course workers are thanking more than a few deities that they weren’t horrifically injured. The red flag comes out only once racers stop piling into each other. This clip is certainly in the top-10 all-time wreckfests.
Well, this seems incredible stupid…and yeah, better close the door on that viper, so the interior doesn´t get wet…
