Created Out Of Thin Air: More Work On The KTM-Powered Power Wheels Jeep

The KTM-powered Power Wheels Jeep project is getting tidied up before it’s considered done. Yeah, it runs, but there are details that need to be addressed before this little monster is ready to go, like the throttle assembly, the shifter assembly, the steering wheel…you know, vital components. In this little package of dynamite, having control sufraces that actually work isn’t an option. Okay, maybe the shifter…first gear might be more than what’s needed when it comes to the power-to-weight ratio of what this Grind Hard Plumbing Co. setup is going to be capable of.

What’s cool about this update is the amount of fabrication work that is being put into these new pieces. The steering wheel is composed of one part of a different wheel (the center hub) and everything else is built around it. From the knurled end of the shifter to the handbuilt thumb-throttle setup and a clutch hand paddle, this is what we should be aspiring to be as a builder: creative enough to figure out a solution, capable enough to build it out of raw materials.
