A lift is that one tool or device that every busted knuckle BangShifter would love to have in their home shop. We know a bunch of you do out there ins reader land, so this video serves as a cautionary tale. The kid featured in this footage is damned lucky to be alive because the space is was occupying on the floor quickly becomes the space his truck is in while the lift remains fully extended.
The multi-post lift sure seems like a safer option than the single “in floor” model like the one shown in the video. During our years working at the gas station in high school we got lots of practice loading cars onto lifts like the one in the video and although we didn’t ever drop one, we came damned close.
