Cross-Functional Synergy: This Is What Happens When A Drifter Meets The Burnout Pad!

Drifting and Aussie-rules burnout contests aren’t too different from one another. The goal is to kill tires in the end, it all boils down to how that goal is achieved…do you use tons of power and just cook the rubber off or do you proceed to mark up the asphalt until the end result looks like John Handcock’s signature? A drifter should find themselves right at home on the pad…other than having a tighter space to work with, car control when the car is just about out of control is the name of the game. Mitch Larner has been drifting this Skyline for years, but when he was introduced properly to the burnout pad at Perth Motorplex for Motorvation 32, he took right to it, making sure the turbocharger was keeping the engine deep in the sweet spot and the tires fully ablaze. There might have been a few early hiccups, but tipping in the Nissan didn’t result in mangled sheetmetal.

Now, if we can get more of the big blower guys out onto the drift competition to have something to really cheer for…we’re totally down to watch a Falcon with an 8-71 poking through the hood doing a tandem drift, chasing down a typical drift car like a bad guy coming after money he’s owed!
