“Dammit, 007, That’s Not A Toy!” Aston Martin Cuts Their DB10 Loose For Some Tire Killing

“Dammit, 007, That’s Not A Toy!” Aston Martin Cuts Their DB10 Loose For Some Tire Killing

Aston Martin and James Bond go back decades, ever since 007 slid behind the wheel of an Aston Martin DB5 in the film Goldfinger. In the current Daniel Craig series of films, Bond usually gets behind the wheel of the latest and greatest AM product available, but for the upcoming film Spectre, Aston Martin themselves decided to give the franchise a gift: a bespoke one-off, the DB10. Not much is known about the car other than it’s running some sort of AMG engine an has three pedals and one shifter, like it should. Oh, and that it can rip the tires off of the wheels at will.

According to Aston Martin Design Director Marek Reichman, “The DB5 is pure, it’s simple, it has a grille to die for. It’s a scalpel not a kitchen knife. That’s what Sam (Mendes, director of Spectre) wanted, for this to be Bond’s simple, pure Aston Martin, just like the original DB5 was.” Sounds like 007 can enjoy a driver’s car just as well as a shaken martini or a beauty with a double-entendre name.

The wheels on this look kind of, dare I say, cheap. Like those really crappy Tire Rack-only brands. That and the front end looks nice but verges a little too close to the Lotus Evora.
