Earmuffs, Kids: Working On A Cummins 12-Valve While Maintaining A Solid “R” Rating

Earmuffs, Kids: Working On A Cummins 12-Valve While Maintaining A Solid “R” Rating

There is a reason why I don’t do a lot of live stuff that’s off-the-cuff: my propensity to use the English language…ALL of the English language…as best as I know how. Okay, that’s a bit poetic. Here’s the same sentence, but a bit clearer: I use the F-word like it’s a comma in normal situations where I don’t have to maintain a mature veneer. Blame it on my upbringing, my military service time, my attitude issues, whatever is your preference, but cursing while wrenching just goes hand-in-hand around my shop. Working on hopeless relics from the 1980s doesn’t exactly help matters, either. And I know I’m not the only one…last time I asked Chad about the dually, he went off like he had just been cut off in traffic about the fun he had been having. And if any of you can look me dead-nuts in the eye and say that you haven’t let even the most random word fly once you’ve anointed the machine with blood from a pinched finger or a fresh slice on the arm, then I will call bullshit.

With that, we turn again to the Zip Ties N Bias Plies channel of YouTube for some entertainment. Will you learn something about working on a 12-valve Cummins inline-six diesel from this video? There’s a chance. Will you learn new and interesting ways to swear from a Canadian who seems hell-bent on being the next major character on the show Letterkenny? Sure seems like it to us! Anyone who breaks out ye olde chainsaw to open up the boxes of supplies and whatever else is around must know what they’re doing…right?

LANGUAGE WARNING: This is like watching Andrew Dice Clay in his prime…there’s factual mechanical work involved, but the bad word counter is spinning like a stopwatch’s timer. Headphones, no kids, no adults with sensitivities, and if you play this one at your workshop, DO NOT BLAME US if you have a meeting with H.R. later this week!
