Last week we gave you Part 1 of our Cool G: 1000 Horsepower Turbo LS engine build and told you all about how the naturally aspirated combo went together. We’ll be showing you the completed 1000 Horsepower Turbo combo soon, but figured we would give you a sneak peek at the coolness of boost. Or the heat actually. The headers are glowing cherry red on this bad boy both in the light and in the dark. We love it. There is bonus footage of a 347 Ford with a set of little twins on it that you’ll see in the pages of one of your favorite magazines soon, but don’t tell anyone we showed it to you.
Stay tuned for more on the LS 383 Turbo combo that is going in a cool Drag Week street strip Chevy II. You’ll dig it, as we are going to show you not one, but three different turbos on this combo and tell you what is different about each one.
Click play to watch the glowing headers fun!
You don’t need any stinkin’ turbos to get “cherry red” exhaust pipes. All you need is one of the 370,000 (up from 303,000) recalled 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 “firebombs.” (a/k/a the Vega Pickups)
Apparently, if the “miracle” GM mill idles on all eight cylinders, the exhaust overheats and the 2014 rig fireballs!
Taxpayers, how ’bout a little pickup Bar-B-Que . . . 🙂 .
One wonders whether or not they’ll hype this engine as much after it blows up . . . .
How many hp did this turbo generate!
WOW. Pardon my french but that is really fuckin cool!
Never seen anybody outside of NHTSA so excited about a recall before . . . . Just sayin
Gosh, it’s almost like Walt was unaware of the plan…
