With the increasing popularity of LS engine swaps, and to a lesser extent Ford Mod Motor and Mopar Hemis, the aftermarket is responding with more and more parts designed to make late model engine swaps into early model hot rods a bolt in affair. With motor mounts, headers, oil pans, trans crossmembers and accessory drives you can now do an LS Swap in your muscle car in the same amount of time as a standard engine replacement. That means you can tackle a job like this over the weekend with a couple of buddies.
Hooker Headers was one of the companies that stepped up early in an effort to create individual parts that, when used properly together, make an LS swap a breeze. And with Holley’s self tuning EFI systems, and a variety of EFI and carbureted induction choices, getting that newly installed LS engine up and running has never been easier.
This video that we did at the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas shows all the cool stuff Hooker has available to make your LS Swap a breeze. The example in the video is a Second Gen 1970-1981 Camaro featuring Hookers motor mounts, oil pan, new stainless steel headers, 3″ stainless exhaust, transmission swap crossmember, accessory drives and more. Looking at this kit, I’m sure that Brian and I could bolt the complete system in and have it running during a lazy weekend. And that’s with me being handicapped by having Brian!
Check out the video. The parts are awesome.

Long live the LS! Now I need to win the lottery….. Oh! No mention on how much it will cost…
Not to pee on your campfire, but I did my LS swap on an extremely tight budget and used a lot of junkyard pieces and saved a of of coin.
