Epic Barn Find: Historic 1957 Corvette Custom Show Car Dug Out After 57-Year Hibernation

Epic Barn Find: Historic 1957 Corvette Custom Show Car Dug Out After 57-Year Hibernation

Barn finds are nearly always cool as hell, but range from super exciting to frustrating as well. I say this, because sometimes it is so annoying to find that something has just been sitting, for no good reason, when there was nothing major wrong with it. We see this all the time with barn find cars and trucks that were just “parked”. This Corvette is a little bit that way. It was only a few years old, with relatively low miles on it, when it was fully customized and then parked after just one show.

At some point it came back apart for more work and was then just left. I can’t imagine a good reason for doing that, but I’m sure glad it has been found and shared with the rest of the world again thanks to Jerry Heasley who helped the owner get it uncovered, onto a trailer, and down to the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona for it’s return to the same show, originally held in Oakland, that it had made its debut at so long ago.

This is cool video, of a btichin ride that is coming back to light, and will hopefully get rebuilt/restored to its best again. Check it out.

Video Description:

Last shown at the prestigious Oakland Roadster Show in 1960, we dig out and display this time capsule to the 2022 edition of this show, now held in Pomona, California and called the Grand National Roadster Show. A full writeup of the story can be found on Motortrend.com

Cool car and story but the narration on that video was pure torture to listen to. I finally turned the volume off, couldn’t take it. Would like to see what became of the car
