Newbern and Finnegan are having some serious fun in the Charger in this one! With the 2JZ swapped Mopar getting some love so it was ready to drive they found a great place to go thrash on it without cops and without prying eyes. That means there is no fear so the action is fun. Watch this one and enjoy.
Video Description:
In Episode 179 of Mike Finnegan’s Garage, the crew travels to Iron Mountain Park, an amazing 4,400 acre off-road recreation facility in beautiful Dahlonega, Georgia. The goal is to put Jay Meagher behind the wheel of the Death Metal Charger, our 1968 Dodge Charger. The car originally had a 383ci Mopar Big-Block between the fenders but last summer with the help of Tony Angelo, Kevin Smith, and Jay, the big-block went bye-bye and in went a Toyota 2JZ. The junkyard long lock was fortified with ARP head studs, Brian Crower camshafts and valve springs, a new head gasket and a new Precision Turbocharger. The combo dropped 100 lbs off the nose of the car and added 200 ponies to the rear tires, giving it 450-plus hp. The car still handles like junk, but it does wicked Second gear burnies! The staff of Iron Mountain was kind enough to let us re-stripe what little pavement is present at the park and for that we are forever grateful.
