Shawn Davis made a name for himself as one of the hardest running Pro Mod racers down in bayou country. His red 1957 Chevrolet, with 481ci of screw blown Alan Johnson wedge motor was regularly seen on the ADRL tour and door slammers races all over the country. Unfortunately, Davis recently suffered a high speed top end wreck that totaled his car and has apparently ended his racing activity for the time being.
As you’ll see in the videos below, the motor went away on the car at the top end of the track, oil or some other fluid got under the tires and sent the car into the wall with an incredible amount of force. As a testament to the skilled craftsmen that built Davis’s car, he walked away from this wreck, sore but alive.
