The Oregon Trail Rally is an absolute sweetheart of a rally. Taking place at Portland International Raceway and the fire roads around The Dalles and Dufur, Oregon, the rally is a fast gravel setup that brings in open, rolling hills, Northwest forests, and unpredictable weather that could go from bright and sunny to rainy and muddy in a flash. Teammates David Higgins and Travis Pastrana, who is returning to rally after three years out of the sport with new co-driver Chrissie Beavis, are trying to podium together after Higgins won at Sno*Drift and Pastrana grabbed second at 100 Acre Wood. Higgins and co-driver Craig Drew start Oregon Trail off on the wrong foot when they kill the left-rear tire on a stage, and with penalties adding up, things don’t look great for the plan. It’s sideways, it’s muddy, and it’s fast. Will the teammates be able to stand together at the end or will the penalties be enough to keep Higgins and Drew out of the top three?
Silly legal department, putting “Professional driver on closed circuit” disclaimers four times in the video when that’s perfectly obvious from the context of the video itself.
And I’m surprised they didn’t throw in some sort of “Do not attempt” warning about what the photographer was doing, too.
