When Berserko Bobby Doerrer called us up and said that he was helping out with a jet car that had just matched raced a monster truck at Palm Beach International Raceway, we asked him to place his glass down and step away from the phone. Turns out the crazy bastard was telling the truth! The feature attraction at the Feld Motorsports “Thunder Jam” event was a handicapped start eighth-mile race between Dick Rosberg’s “Thriller” Jet Dragster and the well known Grave Digger monster truck.
As you’ll see in the video, the truck goes all the way to the 330′ mark before the jet dragster comes off the line with the afterburner blazing. The big truck has some suds, but does it have enough to stave off the flaming jet? Click below to find out.
Stuff like this is one of the reasons we love drag racing. There are times when the sport doesn’t take itself very seriously and it is all just for fun. This is one of those times!
