It’s a sad fact: the old yards are going away. The classic metal, the cars of years gone past, are vanishing…either the collector has passed on and the kids want nothing to do with it, or an auction company moves it all out over the course of a weekend to prospective bidders, or worst of all, a mobile crusher comes in, makes sheetmetal pancakes and that’s that. The old yards are going and if you don’t want to miss out, you need to go check them out, score your parts, and maybe sweet-talk your way into a potentially salvageable machine to put on the trailer for the ride back home.
