Confession time. We freaking love wheel-standers. Many hardcore drag race guys like to talk smack about jet cars and wheel-standers as being circus acts or somehow inferior to “real” race cars. Newsflash: any lunatic willing to drive on the rear wheels at more than 150 mph deserves all the respect in the world.

Most of today’s active wheel-standers use innovative thinking, cool engineering, and the accumulated knowledge of forty-plus years of development. Old school acts like those featured in this awesome video were homebuilt creations that handled weird, drove strangely, and were about as complex as a sledgehammer.
