Life’s Not All Crushing Cars And Fun In The Life Of A Monster Truck Driver! Check This Out!

How hard can it be to be a monster truck driver…really. You wake up, dress up in the kit, get into the truck, spend a couple of hours going balls-out for a screaming crowd, then you break the truck down, put the tiny wheels on, load everything up and move on to the next venue, right? Wrong. There’s quite a bit that goes along with the fun of climbing up into the driver’s seat of several tons’ worth of loud, high-flying anger and trying to not bounce on the lid after botching a jump. There are the fan meet-and-greets, there are the travel weeks that can take a toll, and then there is the battle you have with yourself (and presumably, others) when you are on a bad week. It is still every bit a competition, after all!

You’re going to hang with Mike Vaters II, the driver of the Overkill Evolution monster Ford, during a Monster Jam event in Jacksonville, Florida that proved to be a bit of an ass-kicker. With a three-week break coming up after the event, rains threatening to turn the venue into a gigantic mud pit, and a truck that’s not completely content with life, you’ll get to see the real scene from the view of Vaters’ eyes. Take a look!
