Brian Lohnes loves tractors, just like he loves big, lumbering trucks and anything else that is utilitarian in nature. I don’t see the draw, personally. They are cool in their own right, but the lack of speed and urgency doesn’t do it for me. Sure, a good tractor has grunt, but it’s the kind you would want as you drag the dirt kind, not the “punch in the chest” kind that I personally dig. I know that tractors are supposed to work, but I want speed, dammit, and sled pulling just isn’t enough to satisfy that urge. Luckily, there are some real head cases out there that have created some wicked pieces. From a mini sled puller powered by a turbocharged Honda four-banger to an absolute beast that looks to be packing a WWII-era V-12 (help me out, guys…), there is plenty of items that will have the boss staring at his screen intently with a light sweat beading up on his brow.
