The number of half mile and mile land speed races going on around the country just keeps growing. But seeing this kind of racing live usually requires you to actually go to one of the races in person. Thanks to the folks at wannaGOFAST.com and MotorManiaTV, you can watch top speed 1/2 mile racing all weekend long from New Orleans. What car will be the fastest? Will it be a Lambo or Porsche? Or perhaps a classic muscle car with incredible horsepower? Or will a Corvette show up to wreck everyone’s hopes and dreams? I guess we’ll just have to see.

EVENT RULES & REGULATIONS
- NO PASSENGERS
- Helmet required, SNELL SA2010 or newer.
- MOTORCYCLE SPECIFIC RULES. Full Leather Suit covering torso, arms and legs (one piece, or two piece zipping together at least 50%). SNELL M2010 or newer full face helmet. Leather full finger gauntlet style gloves. Leather riding boots completely covering ankle. *FLORIDA 1/2 MILE ONLY
- Cars Exceeding 199+ MPH require a 4-Point roll bar, mounted fire extinguisher and an SFI Rated fire jacket.
- We recommend additional safety equipment FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS including but not limited to: Roll bar or full cage, fire suit and clothing/gloves, fire suppression system, hans or similar type of restraint for neck protection, arm restraints or window net.
- You are responsible for ensuring the safety and capabilities of your car at this event.
- Full covered shoe wear required.
- Pants required.
- All vehicles must have tech inspection form completed prior to event.
- All vehicles must go through tech inspection.
- Convertibles must have factory rollover protection. Please contact us if you are unsure if your car has this option.
- Only convertibles with a cage & 5 point safety harness will be allowed to run top down if participant chooses.
- Alternative fuels to gasoline and diesel must be reported to our crew, for submission to rescue personnel. Example: Methanol, Alcohol, Nitrous, etc.
- Your vehicle assigned number must be visible at the top center of your windshield right in front of your rearview mirror.
- Your tech sticker must be placed in the driver’s side top corner of your windshield.
- In the event of a mechanical failure please pull off into the grass and turn your hazards on. This will signal a tow truck and emergency personnel to come to your assistance.
- During an Event, if a car is involved in an on-track incident and/or is stopped on or near the racing surface and unable to continue to make forward progress, unless extenuating emergency conditions exist with the racecar (i.e. fire, smoke in cockpit, etc.) the driver should take the following steps:
- Shut off electrical power and, if driver is uninjured, lower window.
- Do not loosen, disconnect or remove any driver personal safety equipment until directed to do so by safety personnel or a Track Official.
- After being directed to exit the car, the driver should proceed to either the ambulance, other vehicle, or as otherwise directed by safety personnel or a Track Official.
- At no time should a driver or crew member(s) approach any portion of the racing surface or apron.
- At no time should a driver or crew member(s) approach another moving vehicle. Vehicles not involved in the incident or that are able to continue afterward should slow down to a cautious speed, use extreme care as they approach an incident scene, and follow any directions given by safety personnel or Track Officials. Any competitor vehicles should stay in their lane during an incident.
- All drivers must be 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license.
- All Participants must sign a release waiver.
- All minors must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian and fill out release waiver for the minor or minors.
- All spectators must sign a waiver.
- No minors in staging lanes.
- No minors operating any motorized equipment inside the airfield.
- No spectators in staging lanes.
- All pit crew members must wear provided wristband at all times.
- No pets allowed inside the fence or airfield.
- ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL INSIDE AIRFIELD STRIP.
- NO COOLERS OR OUTSIDE FOOD PERMITTED.
- Tents & Chairs are permitted.
- Under no circumstances will driver’s be allowed to drive if found drinking alcohol anywhere.
- Any driver suspect to alcohol drinking or under the influence of drugs will not be allowed to drive.
- NO BOTTLES ALLOWED ON THE PREMISES.
- Spectators and participants are responsible for moving their trash and discarded items.
- Speed limit is 5 mph, in all areas of the airfield except for the runway.
- No firearms allowed inside the airfield fence.
