Lunatic Fringe Video: Helmet Cam Footage of The World’s Craziest Bike Race

We believe that this is the first (and most likely the last) time that bicycle racing will ever be featured on BangShift but holy smokes, this is crazy. The video shows the entire downhill run of a BMX racer at an event called the Valparaiso Cerro Abajo Race, held in Chile. The race takes place on the steepest downhill run in the city and the actual course is made up of stair ways, sidewalks, rickety plywood jumps, random walls, and other totally wild obstacles.

This really seems like something out of a video game and we’d be dead about 15 seconds after we pedaled off the launch. While there aren’t any motors involved, we know a lot of you out there in readerland zipped around on BMX bikes back in the day. This is the ultimate extension of those activities!

Thanks to Bobby for the tip!
