Best of BS 2017: Man Vs. Wild: Stump Removal Done Right And Wrong!

Mow around it all you want, ignore it as long as you can…sooner or later, the ugly stump of what was once a tree in your yard is going to have to be extracted sooner or later, and it’s more than likely that you will end up using the nearest available truck to rip it out of the earth with. Is it the neatest way of doing things? Hell no it’s not…you’re tearing up the stump and it’s network of roots clean out of the ground by force. You know what that is similar to? Grab a nose hair with a pair of pliers and yank that sum’bitch out as hard as you can and you’ll get the idea. But a good old stump pull gives you the rare chance to put the truck to the test. A strong chassis, torque and traction are your friends. If you do it right all you will have to do is fill in some dirt in the hole where the stump used to be, throw down some grass seed, and wait for the sun and the rain to make magic happen. If things go wrong…well, hit play below and check out some examples.

And if you are using a Pontiac Sunbird to rip out a stump…well, you keep on trying, you special little rainbow, and bless your heart.

Yes – anybody who would pull a large stump with a Sunbird has definitely boarded the Crazy Train with a nonstop ticket to Loonyville. Better off using the drill and gasoline method if that’s all you have available.
