So what’s better than showing you Quain Stott running his gasser? How about showing you Quain Stott’s nephew, with some coaching from his legendary dad Mitch running his gasser against Quain?! This video features Donovan Stott in his “White Trash” gasser. We can’t seem to dig up a photo of this car from the outside and we were wondering if Donovated was related to Quain…that was until we heard the voice and saw the man standing outside the driver’s door at the start of the video. That voice belongs to Pro Mod legend Mitch Stott, the first man to ever traverse a quarter mile strip in less than six seconds in a doorslammer. Donovan looks too young to be his brother, so we’re taking a blind guess that it is his son. Seeing a couple generations of the Stott family racing gassers on the eighth mile generates some very good drag racing vibes.
Mitch and Quain had some awesome battles during the glory days of IHRA pro mod and we’ve showed you Quain rowing the four speed in his car…now we’re giving you a face full of Donovan and you’ll be happy to know that he seems to be as talented as his old man when it comes to wrangling a car down the track. These machines are built to be very correct for the period when they were raced. That means they handle weird, require a deft hand to be steered and shifted, and embody all that is good and right with the world. We’ve got nothing more to add other than the fact it makes us smile on a Friday to know that the Stotts…all of them, are out at the strip having fun.
