Morning Symphony: The Sights And Sounds Of The 2018 Monte Carlo Rally

Morning Symphony: The Sights And Sounds Of The 2018 Monte Carlo Rally

Since 1911, the Monte Carlo Rally has been one of the top-tier premier rally races on the WRC calendar. It’s also the first, bringing the WRC teams through the unpredictable hills and dales of Monaco at the coldest part of the year. Every season has to start somewhere, though, and if you start in January and run through the end of November like these teams do, there isn’t much to complain about. The rally is ongoing and Hyundai driver Thierry Neuville showed promise in the shakedown runs in his Hyundai i20 WRC, and Carlos Sainz has stepped away from Formula 1 and into a car himself (his father won Monte Carlo three times.)

Automotive noise maestro 19Bozzy92 found his way into the Monaco hills to capture the sights and sounds of the Monte Carlo Rally shakedown runs as only he can: with crystal-clear sound and excellent video recording. You will easily get a sense of being there: the pops and bangs from the cars, the scrapes from the body, the smell of churned-up dirt, the smell of exhaust. You know it well. Just be grateful that you aren’t experiencing the cold from Monaco, too.
