Morning Symphony: The Top Ten Machines Laying Down Rubber In The Open Class At Gazzanats!

A haze in the air that can be seen for miles around, the hints of vulcanized rubber and racing gas, and the cheering of an audience that sounds well entertained…yep, it’s another burnout contest! It seems like there is at least one contest per week, and sometimes it seems that it’s the same cars frying off the tires. Not this time. Let’s take a look at what we have here: a Nissan Patrol, an S197 Mustang that is powered by some kind of six-cylinder…maybe a Barra swap?…and some kind of little Japanese van that we can barely identify all take to the pad with the usual Falcons and Holdens for this round. The Mustang really has our attention…we can’t tell just from sound alone if the 4.0L V6 is in place or if the 4.0L turbo inline-six found in the local cars was used, but it’s unique and just as capable of playing with the big boys, which didn’t hurt…especially when it already had the six-cylinder burnout trophy ready to go!
