Never Meet Your Heroes: Regular Car Reviews Gets To Drive The “Defiance” Dodge Charger!

The only reason I know of the video game “Defiance” or the television show that followed is this one car. It looks exactly as it’s supposed to: a post-apocalyptic monster of a machine that could handle the rigors of an Earth that had been dramatically terraformed and turned into a strange wasteland. (Don’t skewer me on the summary, I never watched the show, nor do I have any inclination to ever watch the show.) Somebody sent me a picture of this Charger, rolling down a dusty street. You’d expect The Punisher to step out of this monster, twelve gauge shotgun in hand, and forgo any “Lawkeeper” pretenses, instead using gratuitous violence to make sure the town of Defiance (a collective built on what used to be St. Louis, Missouri) stayed peaceful.

That’s in the television world. In the real world, the car is a 2013 V6 Charger that was kitted up, fitted with off-road tires and Cragar Soft 8 wheels, a hoodscoop that looks suspiciously like the one on Roadkill’s “General Maintenance” Hellcat Charger, some kind of glowing thing on top of the hoodscoop, and all sorts of other crap tacked on to look cool. Look cool, this Charger does. But what is it like to drive? Mr. Regular got the special treat of driving the Charger, which is owned by the The AficionAuto. Did he enjoy it? Click play below to listen to the almost incoherent ranting.

(Seriously…a V6 Charger? Couldn’t even spring for a 5.7 car? Cheapskates…)
